As war clouds gather: Democrats back covert attacks on Iran

Leading congressional Democrats have given their approval to a vastly expanded program of US covert warfare against Iran, according to an article by investigative reporter Seymour Hersh, published in the New Yorker, and made available on the magazines web site Sunday.

President Bush issued a Presidential Finding, a classified notification to top congressional leaders about the covert program against Iran, last year, after the Democrats took control of the Senate and House of Representatives in the November 2006…

Bits: Google and the Anti-Obama Bloggers

Google freezes, then unfreezes, a number of anti-Obama blogs, saying it was a mistake caused by e-mail spam.

The point is, people and groups should be free to publish and organize politically, including groups organizing on the internet to defeat Obama. Whether or not you agree with them, numerous Clinton supporters are angry with the Party and the media…

Bill Clinton Says Obama Must ‘Kiss My Ass’ For His Support

Bill Clinton is so bitter about Barack Obama’s victory over his wife Hillary that he has told friends the Democratic nominee will have to beg for his wholehearted support.

It is so unfortunate BC has again deluded himself into believing Barack Obama or anyone for that matter is in possession of the magic bullet that will rectify the rift he created for himself in the African American community. That is the fairy…

The Bush Administration and Gasoline Prices

Is the Bush Admin really behind the spike in oil/gas prices?

OK Idiots. There is no way any president can allow gas prices to go up. Ask anyone to explain how Bush has manipulated, or let oil companies raise the prices, and they have no answer. I am not a Bush defender. I am just tired of how ignorant…

Breaking: Hillary Is On the Short List For VP

Finally some news from the Obama Camp! Hillary Clinton is on the short list. Former Senate majority leader and Senator Obama’s campaign co-chairman Tom Daschle has told ABC1’s Insiders what the presidential hopeful is looking for in a vice presidential candidate.

“The fact that the first African American could get elected president of the United States speaks volumes for the openness and the tremendous inspiration that that may mean, not only for America but for people all over the world,” he said.

AZ GOP: “McCain is mentally unstable and out of control.”

This November, for the first time, McCain’s name will appear on a national ballot. While Arizona residents know a lot about McCain’s political history, the nation, as a whole, knows relatively little. His national image is largely a fantasy created by his public relations machine. It is time now that the nation learns the facts about McCain.

not as a Senator; as our VA hospital almost closed and he did nothing, the American Legion has to lobby the state leg to get anything done. McCain is all talk. He talks secure borders, and yet the drug cartels are winning the war at the border, yes…

Obama donates to Clinton campaign

Sen. Barack Obama donated $2,300 Thursday to the campaign of his former opponent, Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton.

Concern about the division in the party arose because the two candidates appealed to such different segments of the electorate. Clinton did well with working-class voters and the elderly. Obama rallied the support of affluent,…

Nader Says Obama is Using ‘White Guilt’ to Get Votes

Ralph Nader’s presidential candidacy has received little media attention, but his latest critique of Sen. Barack Obama has come under fire for its seemingly racial overtones. Speaking with Colorado’s Rocky Mountain News, Nader accused Obama of attempting to “talk white” and appealing to “white guilt” in his quest to win the White House.

"They are both enthralled to the corporate powers," he said of both Obama and Sen. Hillary Clinton. "They've completely ignored the presidential pattern of illegality and accountability; they've ignored the out…

McCain Adviser May Have Struck a Nerve

Sen. Barack Obama and his surrogates continued to criticize Charles R. Black Jr., a top adviser to Sen. John McCain, on Tuesday for saying a terrorist attack before the November election would help the presumptive Republican nominee. But behind their protests lay a question that has dogged Democrats since Sept. 11, 2001: Was Black speaking the trut

Black's comment to Fortune magazine that a terrorist attack “certainly would be a big advantage” roiled the presidential campaign for a second straight day. Obama — who has made a determined effort to shore up his…

RNC Retains $50 Million Cash Advantage Over DNC

The advantage disproves the notion that by opting out of public financing, Obama will have a huge advantage in the election. Add to that the fact that Obama is shutting down the liberal 527s and things look even worse.

All the Republicans can offer is the RNC money. The combined efforts of Bush and McCain. The latter, in fact, urged the PAC contributors to contribute to the RNC, thus completely circumventing the spirit of his own campaign finance reform…

Elizabeth Edwards Already Working With Obama on health care

Elizabeth Edwards appeared on this morning’s Good Morning America to discuss the Democratic Party’s approach to universal health care.

EDWARDS: I'm going to partner with him. The idea is, we want to get to universality. We want to make certain that every American is covered. You know, the mechanism for doing that, there's going to be disagreement about what that is. I…

McCain’s Campaign Funding Hypocrisy

What’s actually disturbing is the Swift Boat Media’s complete indifference to McCain’s bald-faced hypocrisy on the same issue. Amidst all the attacks on Obama’s “flip-flop,” how much have you read in the MSM about the fact that McCain has “completely reversed himself” on public financing — and is currently breaking the law on a daily basis, making

With every election cycle, we see clear instances of mainstream media bias, and yet media reform is never seriously considered. As we all know, our “information retrieval and delivery system” (news media) is broken. In many…

Can McCain claim the Ron Paul votes?

With iconoclast Ron Paul having ended his quixotic bid for the Republican presidential nomination ? his platform had called for, among other things, ending the Iraq War, repealing the PATRIOT Act, returning to the gold standard and eliminating taxes on tips ? his many dedicated supporters are up for grabs.

While it had little impact on his base of political support, Paul found himself the subject of widespread criticism when racist remarks published in the 1990s in the Ron Paul Political Report, a newsletter he?s distributed for decades, came to…

Obama blasts McCain on offshore drilling

Sen. John McCain was touting U.S.-Canadian economic and energy ties in a visit north Friday, while Sen. Barack Obama hammered his GOP opponent for embracing offshore drilling and other energy policies.

"And today, the strength of that partnership is more vital than ever. The economic community we have founded, together with our alliance and the values we hold in common, have served our people for decades and has served us well. It will…

Both McCain and Obama Wobbled. Who Will Pay the Price?

A piece from Slate that summarizes John McCain and Barack Obama’s respective flip-flopping on issues this past week. McCain flipped on drilling for oil offshore. Obama flopped on campaign finance. The piece speculates who of the two might pay more for these changes of position in the general election.

Obama's is also exposed because he initially pledged to work against his self-interest on this very point. His promise to take taxpayer funds was always conditional'he'd do it if McCain did, too'but he and his aides said he…

The Poverty of Reaganism-Bushism

While China has been growing into an economic powerhouse these last thirty years, America, under the sway of Reaganism-Bushism, has become the economic equivalent of a Midwestern town decimated by a crystal meth epidemic.

But why stop with people, even 6.5 billion of them? There’s an entire landscape to be raped! Doing so with wanton disregard for the consequences is Principle Number Five. When the Berlin Wall came down in 1989, one of the surprises for…

Obama is a class act. He has shown time and time again that he actually means what he says. And when some member of his campaign does something that contradicts what he says, their either fired immediately, or he apologizes for the mistake, or…

Michelle Obama Helps to Unite Party Around Her Husband

By giving a speech to women, she helps to unite the party around her husband for the long fight ahead.

Many months ago, Clinton broke down and cried on camera. There was an uproar in the blogging community and in the media. Some accused her of being a fake. Others accused her of being genuine. The crying, it is argued, actually helped Clinton gain…

Obama Apologizes Directly to Muslim Women

Perhaps he really does mean for change…He personally called the women that were not allowed on stage with him to apologize. Can you see McCain doing this?

Really, I don’t have a dog in the fight since Ron Paul called it quits but whom do you suppose gave the order for them to be removed from the stage in the first place? Are you really naive enough to believe Obama doesn’t…
