In an apparent swipe at Barack Obama, George W. Bush recently compared those who favor talking to nations or groups which are hostile to America to appeasers of the Nazis. Stephen Colbert was intrigued by Bush's reference to a senator who suggested in 1939 that if he could only have talked to Hitler, World War II might have been avoided.
